Your account and licenses

Where your keys live, how renewals work, moving a key to another site, and handing a client’s site over to them.

Your account

Your account is at reefwp.com/account. It is made for you the moment you buy, with the email you paid with. The email that brings your key has a button to choose your password; after that, sign in with your email and that password. If the email never came, press Forgot your password? on the sign-in form and a link to choose one arrives instead.

Inside are five tabs:

  • Licenses: each key, the sites using it, and its renewal.
  • Downloads: the Signature add-ons you own, with the version before each one, and the free plugins.
  • Invoices: every payment, with a receipt to download.
  • Details: your name, your email and your password.
  • Help: write to us about a license, a renewal or an invoice. The answer comes to your email.

Your license key

Each purchase makes one key. It is in the email that came with your purchase, and under Licenses in your account with a Copy button beside it.

To switch Signature on, download the add-on from Downloads, install it beside the free plugin, open its screen (for Echo Forms that is Echo Forms > Signature), paste the key and press Activate. Each plugin’s own guide shows the screen.

A plan covers that many live sites. Test and staging copies do not count: an address that starts with staging., stage., dev. or test., or ends in .local or .test, or a staging address from a host such as WP Engine or Kinsta. They are listed under the key so you can see them.

Moving a key to another site

Under the license, press Remove beside the old site. Its place is free at once, and the add-on there switches off at its next check. Then activate the key on the new site. Pressing Remove key on the old site’s own screen does the same.

Renewals

Every license renews once a year, at the price you paid, on the date shown under it. Stripe charges the card you bought with. Card and invoices opens Stripe’s own page, where you can change the card.

  • Auto-renew: switch it off and the license runs to its date, then ends. Switch it back on before that date and it carries on as before.
  • If a renewal payment fails: Stripe tries the card again over the next days and you get an email. Your sites keep Signature for 14 days while it is sorted out.
  • If it lapses: Signature switches off on your sites at their next check. Nothing in your forms or settings is lost, and it all comes back with the key. Press Renew now under the license to buy the next year for the same key.

More sites, or fewer

Change plan under the license moves it to another plan. A bigger plan is charged straight away for the rest of your year, and the extra sites open as soon as it is paid. A smaller plan starts at your next renewal, so you keep what you paid for until then.

Client hand-off

For agencies on a 10, 25 or 100-site license. Built a client’s site and want them to own it? Under the license, press Hand off to client beside that site and type your client’s name and email.

  1. Your client gets an email with a link to buy a one-site license, with their email already filled in.
  2. Nothing changes on the site until their own key is entered there.
  3. The moment it is, your place comes back to you, and the site’s support goes to your client.

Until then the site shows Waiting for your client, and Cancel hand-off takes it back.

Questions

Write from Help in your account, or use the chat button on any page of this site. With a Signature key, Help and feedback inside the plugin reaches us too, at the front of the queue.
