Connecting WordPress forms and Zapier lets every new entry start a workflow in thousands of apps: a card on a board, a row in a database, a message in a team chat or a deal in a CRM. The same works with Make and n8n. This guide is for teams who already automate their work and want forms to join in. We show the two ways Echo Forms connects, when to use each, and a first workflow in about 15 minutes.
The short version
- For a one-way link, send each entry to a Zapier Catch Hook with a webhook.
- For two-way links, make an app key and use the New entry and Create entry steps.
- Make and n8n work the same way as Zapier.
- Test with one entry before turning a workflow on.
Why automate form entries?
Because the work after a form is often the same every time. A new quote request goes to a sales board, a job application goes to a hiring sheet, a support request goes to a chat channel. Doing that by hand takes about 3 minutes per entry, and at 50 entries a month that is 150 minutes, or 2.5 hours, you get back. We would rather spend those hours on the replies. Form automation also never forgets a step, which matters on a busy Friday.
Which way should you connect?

Both come with Echo Forms Signature. The webhook is the quickest: paste one address and it works. The app key gives each app its own key you can switch off later, plus a Create entry step that adds entries from anything the other app knows.
How to connect WordPress forms and Zapier with a webhook, step by step
- In Zapier, start a Zap with Webhooks by Zapier and choose Catch Hook, as described in Zapier’s webhooks guide.
- Copy the webhook address Zapier gives you.
- In Echo Forms, open the form’s Marketing tab and tick Send to a webhook.
- Paste the address as the Webhook URL; leave the custom JSON body blank to send every field.
- Send a test entry, then pick it in Zapier to map the fields.
- Add the action you want, test it, and turn the Zap on. The whole Zap usually takes us about 10 minutes.

How do app keys work?
On Connections, the Automation apps card makes a named key, such as Zapier, shown once for you to copy. The card lists each key with when it was made and last used, and Remove cuts that app off. With the key, an app can listen for New entry or run Create entry on a form. The automation apps guide shows every step, and developers can use the same key on a small API in WordPress.
When is a native connection better?
When one exists for the tool you use.
