The best WordPress form plugin is the one that does what your forms need today without charging you a higher tier the day they need one more thing. We compared five popular builders on the three questions that decide most purchases: what you get free, what the cheapest paid plan leaves out, and what every feature costs on one site.
We make Echo Forms, so read this with that in mind. Every figure for the other plugins comes from their own pricing pages, checked in October 2026. Prices change often, so check the page before you buy.
The short version
- WPForms and Gravity Forms lock many features to higher tiers.
- Fluent Forms, SureForms and Echo Forms put every feature on every paid plan.
- Echo Forms is the cheapest way to every feature on one site, at $49.99 a year.
- Gravity Forms needs a separate plugin, Gravity Flow, to pass answers from one form to the next.
How did we compare them?
We looked at what a small business or an agency actually pays for, because feature lists alone hide the catch. For each plugin we checked the free version, the price of the cheapest plan that includes everything, and whether features such as quizzes, surveys and conversational forms sit behind a higher tier.
If you have read a dozen “WPForms vs Gravity Forms” posts already, this one adds the other three, and the price of every feature in WordPress terms: one site, one year.
We left out speed tests and design opinions. Those depend on your theme and your taste, and every plugin here builds a good-looking form in the right hands.

WPForms: the easiest start, with tiers to climb
WPForms is friendly for beginners, with a large template library and a tidy builder. The catch is the ladder. Quizzes, surveys, conversational forms, save and resume, signatures and Google Sheets start on the Pro plan, at $199.50 a year. HubSpot, Salesforce and webhooks need Elite, at $299.50 a year. The free version, WPForms Lite, adds a 3% fee to Stripe payments.
Gravity Forms: deep and proven, priced by add-on
Gravity Forms has been around for more than 15 years and has a big ecosystem. It has no free version. The Basic plan is $59 a year, but surveys, quizzes, polls, signatures, conversational forms and partial entries all sit on Elite, at $259 a year. Workflows that move an entry from one person or form to the next need Gravity Flow, a separate product from $99 a year.
Fluent Forms: every feature on every plan
Fluent Forms lists “All Features Included” on each plan, which we like. A single site costs $55 a year at the listed sale price, and there are lifetime plans too. The free version takes Stripe payments with a 1.9% fee on each one.
SureForms: modern and block-based
SureForms builds forms with blocks and advertises plans “with no feature gates” from $59 a year. Its free plugin takes Stripe payments, and its own documentation lists a 2.9% fee on the free plan. PayPal needs a paid plan.
Echo Forms: everything at the lowest price
Echo Forms is free, with no limit on forms or entries and no fee on payments. The free plugin already includes conditional logic, multi-step forms, Stripe and PayPal, Google Sheets, mailing lists and popups. Signature adds quizzes, surveys and polls, form workflows, conversational forms, save and resume, 22 more field types, CRMs and automation apps. Every Signature feature comes with every plan, from $49.99 a year for one site, and plans only change the number of sites.
We also built two things the others do not list: form workflows that carry answers from one form to the next, and a client hand-off on the 10, 25 and 100 site plans, so a client can take over their own license and bill.
Which form plugin is best for beginners?
Any of the five works as a form builder for WordPress and handles a first contact form in about 10 minutes. If you want room to grow without a surprise later, pick one that does not gate features, because that is where beginners get caught: the form works, then the next feature needs a bigger plan. Echo Forms, Fluent Forms and SureForms all avoid that.
Which form plugin is best for agencies?
Agencies care about the cost per site and about handing work over cleanly. Echo Forms covers 100 sites for $299.99 a year, works out under $3 a site, and lets a client take over their own license. Gravity Forms and WPForms cover unlimited sites on their top plans, at $259 and $299.50 a year.
Which is the cheapest way to get every feature?
On one site, Echo Forms at $49.99 a year, then Fluent Forms at $55 and SureForms from $59. Gravity Forms needs Elite at $259, plus Gravity Flow for workflows, and WPForms needs Elite at $299.50.
