An AI form builder turns a short description into a finished form: you write what the form is for and what it should ask, and the fields appear, named, typed and in order. How does an AI form generator work?
You describe the form in plain words, and an AI model works out the fields, their types and their order. A booking request for a dog groomer: name, email, the dog’s size, a preferred day, and anything we should know becomes a form with a name field, an email field, a choice for size, a date field and a paragraph box. You then change anything you like in the builder, as with any form.
What should you write in the description?
The purpose, the questions and anything special about them.

Naming the field types you want, such as a star rating or a choice of sizes, gets you closer on the first try. If it cannot build the form, the dialog opens again with the reason and your description still there.
How to generate a form with AI, step by step
- Make an API key with Anthropic, OpenAI or Google.
- In Echo Forms with Signature, open Connections > AI, pick the service and paste the key.
- Press New form, and write in Describe your form at the top of the dialog.
- Press build, and the form opens in the builder, usually within 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Check each field, its labels and which are required; this takes about 5 minutes for a long form.
- Add emails, payments or logic, then test it.

What does an AI form builder cost?
The feature comes with Echo Forms Signature, and the AI runs on your own account, so you pay the AI provider directly for what you use. A form usually costs a cent or two. We chose this so nobody pays a monthly AI fee for a feature they use 3 times a year, and so your descriptions go to the provider you picked. When should you start from a template instead?
