Is an online intake form private enough?
It can be, with care. Entries are stored in your own WordPress database, not on a third party’s servers, which we think is the right start. But in the United States, health details may fall under HIPAA, and a standard website is not automatically compliant. Read the HHS guidance for professionals and check your host, your backups and your email setup with someone who knows the rules. We suggest keeping sensitive answers out of notification emails, so they stay on the site.
How do you get patients to finish the form?
Send the link 2 or 3 days before the visit, with a line saying it takes about 5 minutes. Keep each step short so it feels light on a phone, and show progress so people know how much is left.
