Coupons come with Echo Forms Signature. While the add-on is off, the Coupons screen and the Coupon code field are put away, and every code comes back with the add-on.
A coupon is a code someone types into a form’s Coupon code field to take money off what they pay: a launch offer, a returning-customer thank-you, a code for one event.
Your coupons
Echo Forms > Coupons counts the codes customers can use Redeemable now, the ones that Starts later, every Redemption so far and the codes Ending this week, then lists every code with what it takes off, how many times it has been used, when it runs and where it stands:
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Redeemable now | A customer can type it in today. |
| Starts later | Switched on, but its start date has not arrived. |
| Fully redeemed | It has reached its usage limit. Raise the limit to bring it back. |
| Finished | Its end date has passed. |
| Switched off | Turned off by hand, whatever the dates say. |
- The states along the top 1, each with its count, show only the codes in that state. Trash holds the ones you moved there.
- Search coupons 2 finds a code or a name.
- Cards or List 3 switches how the codes are laid out; the page remembers your choice.
- Press a code 4 to copy it, ready to paste into an email or a post.
- The ⋯ menu 5 has Edit and Move to trash. In the trash it has Restore and Delete for good.
Tick the box on several rows and a bar comes up at the bottom to move them to the trash together, with an Undo once they are gone. Press New coupon at the top to make one.
Make a coupon
Discount: what customers type in, and what it takes off.
- Name: for you, such as Summer promotion. Customers never see it.
- Coupon code: the exact text they type, such as
SUMMER20. It is locked once saved, so a code already out in the world cannot change by accident. - Discount type: Percentage off or Fixed amount off.
- Amount: what it takes off. A percentage is capped at 100. The amount is locked once saved too.
Active window: Starts 5 and Ends 6, with a date and time. Leave the start blank for a coupon that works right away, and the end blank for one that never expires. Both follow your site’s own time zone.
Press Save coupon in the bar at the bottom of the page. It lights up as soon as something changes, and Discard puts back what was there. Coupon saved. confirms it, and Coupons at the top takes you back to the list.
Limit who can use it
Under Redemption limits:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| 1. Usage limit | How many times it can be used in total. 0 is unlimited. |
| 2. Lock to one email address | Only that customer can use it, checked when the form is sent. |
| 3. Uses per customer | How many times one email address can use it. 0 is no limit. |
| 4. Minimum order subtotal | The total has to reach this much before the code works. |
| 5. Only these customers | A list of email addresses, for a code meant for a few regulars. |
On a site with Pulse Bookings there are also Minimum previous bookings for a loyalty code, Maximum previous bookings for a new-customer code, and Only with these employees to run an offer on one stylist or trainer without discounting everyone.
Choose where it works
Under Where it applies, Allowed forms is All forms, including ones you add later, or Selected only: switch it with the two buttons on the right. With Pulse Bookings, Applies only to and Never applies to narrow it down to certain services and packages. An exclusion always wins.
Put a code box on a form
Add the Coupon code 1 field to a form that takes payment. When someone types a code and presses Apply 2, they see 20% off applied! and the total drops. A code that does not work shows your Coupon error message.
Accept coupons from chooses Echo’s coupons, your WooCommerce store’s, or both. See Prices and totals.
The entry keeps the code they used, and the coupon’s use count goes up by one.
