Save and continue and unfinished-form emails come with Echo Forms Signature. While the add-on is off, forms do not keep progress and no reminder goes out.
People start forms they do not finish: the phone rings, a detail is missing, the tab gets closed. These settings get them back.
Save and resume later
Switch on Save and resume later. A visitor can save their progress at any point and get a link back to exactly where they left off.
Pressing it shows Saved. This link brings you back to where you left off:, the link itself, and Copy link. Opening it brings the form back with their answers and choices filled in, ready to finish. Uploaded files and drawn signatures are added again.
The link needs the form to be on a published page. Until it is, people see Saved on this device. Come back to this page to pick up where you left off.
Email people who leave without sending
Tick Email a resume link if they leave 1. Progress is saved quietly as they type, every half a minute and as they leave the page. If they go quiet for longer than the Recovery delay, an email goes to the address they typed into the form’s Email field, with a link back to their answers.
How it plays out: someone starts your quote form, types their name and email, then gets called away and closes the tab. An hour later they get your email, You left something unfinished, with a link. One click and they are back on the form with everything they typed, and they finish it.
Recovery delay
Recovery delay 2 is how many minutes someone must be gone before the email is sent. Too short and you email people who only stepped away for a coffee; too long and they have forgotten. An hour is a good start for most forms, a day for a long application. Emails go out from a check that runs every hour, so one can arrive up to an hour after the delay.
Recovery email
Recovery email subject 3 starts as You left something unfinished. Recovery email message 4 is the email itself, in your words. Use {resume_link} anywhere in the message, replaced with this specific visitor’s own link back to their saved progress. For example:
Hi there,
You started your quote with us but did not get to the end.
Your answers are saved, so it only takes a minute to finish:
{resume_link}
Questions? Just reply to this email.Keep it short and friendly, and make the link the obvious next step.
For the email to go, the form needs an Email field, the person needs to have typed an address before they left, and the form needs to be on a published page for the link to open. Until the form has an Email field, the tab says This form has no Email field yet.
Someone who comes back and sends the form gets no reminder. Each person gets one email for each form they leave.
How long progress is kept
Saved progress is kept for 30 days, then cleared. It is never shown under Entries, and becomes an entry only when it is sent.
Support comes with Signature: in Echo Forms, open Help & feedback and tell us what you were doing, and the people who build it answer, seven days a week. Get Signature
