The live summary comes with Echo Forms Signature. While the add-on is off, the form shows without it.
On a long form people lose track of what they already said. A live summary keeps it in front of them: each answer lands in a panel beside the form the moment they give it, with a ring or a bar for how far along they are. A quote that adds up as they choose, a booking that shows the day and the service, a plan that grows with each question: people see what they are building, and finish it.
Switch it on
Open the form, then Settings > Live summary, and switch on Show a live summary 1. It starts with every question on the form, and a live preview beside the settings shows it filled with example answers.
It suits step-by-step and one-question-at-a-time forms best, where earlier answers are out of sight.
Choose what it lists
Under What it lists, each row is a question and the answer as it is given.
- Rename a row to keep it short: Home size reads better than How big is the home you are moving from?
- Add a section title to group rows, such as The move and Extras.
- While it has no answer: show a dash, or hide the row until it is answered.
- Move up and Move down set the order. Add every question puts back any you removed.
Hidden values never show, and a question hidden by a show or hide rule leaves the summary too.
Place it
Under Where it shows, pick On the right, On the left or Above it, and the summary sits beside the form wherever the form is. Stay in view while they scroll keeps it on screen beside a long form, and Width sets how wide it is.
Pick Where I put it to place it yourself: copy the shortcode it gives you, [echo_summary form="12"], into a column next to the form, or use the Echo Live Summary widget in Elementor. It follows the form wherever it sits on the page.
On phones it folds into a bar above the form that opens with a tap, so it never pushes the questions down.
Make it yours
- Words: the heading (Your quote), a line under it (Updates as you go) and a note at the bottom (Nothing is charged until you confirm).
- Progress: a Ring, a Bar, a count such as 3 of 8, or None, with its label. It counts the questions they have answered out of all they can see.
- Look: Card, Tinted, Dark, Receipt (a torn-paper edge, made for prices) or Bold, then the background, text and highlight colors and the corners.
After they send the form, the summary beside the thank-you message or the quiz result keeps what they sent, at 100%.
