The forms list

Every form on the site with its entries, views and conversion; switch one off, copy it, move it to another site, or bring one over from another form plugin.

In the plugin: Echo Forms > Forms

Echo Forms > Forms lists every form on the site. Every form on this site. Open one to change what it asks, or start a new one from a template.

Your forms

Across the top, the page counts your Forms, their Entries and Views, and the Conversion across all of them. New form starts one from a template.

Each form is a row:

ColumnWhat it shows
1. FormThe form’s name, and how many fields it has. Click the name to open it in the builder.
2. Shortcode[echo_form id="…"]. Press it to copy it; it says Copied.
3. EntriesHow many entries it has. Click the number to see them.
4. ViewsHow many times it has been shown on your site.
5. ConversionOf those views, the share that ended in an entry. A dash means no views yet.
6. CreatedThe day it was made.
7. ActiveWhether it takes entries. Switch it off to close a form everywhere it is placed, without deleting it.
  1. The ⋯ menu at the end of a row has Edit, Entries, Preview, Duplicate, Export and Delete.
  • Duplicate makes a copy that starts active and is independent of the original. Handy for a second location or a seasonal version.
  • Delete asks first. Any shortcode or widget using it will stop working immediately.

Copy a form to another site

Export downloads a form as a file. On the other site, open Echo Forms > Forms, find Import a form under the list, choose the file 1 and press Import 2. It always makes a new form.

The form brings its fields, style and settings, and remembers which connections it uses. Anything that needs an account (a mailing list, a payment service, CAPTCHA, Google Sheets) still needs connecting on the new site under Connections.

Move a form from another plugin

Switching from Gravity Forms, WPForms, Formidable Forms, Fluent Forms or Contact Form 7? Echo copies each form over for you, with the entries people already sent. Your old form stays exactly as it is.

Keep your old form plugin switched on while you move. Echo reads the forms through it, and this section only shows up when one of those plugins is active.

  1. Scroll down this page to Move a form from another plugin. There is one row for each form plugin on your site.
  2. In that plugin’s row, pick the form you want to bring over.
  3. Leave With its entries ticked to bring the entries too, or untick it to bring only the form.
  4. Press Move this form. The new Echo form opens in the builder, ready to check.

What to expect:

  • Fields: each one becomes the closest Echo field. A field Echo has no match for, such as a payment field, arrives as a text field, so nothing is lost. Look the form over before you put it on a page.
  • Entries: they keep the date they were sent, and no notification emails go out for them.
  • Contact Form 7: it only keeps entries when the Flamingo plugin is installed, so its entries come across from Flamingo.
  • WPForms Lite: it doesn’t keep entries, so only the form comes across.

Forms moved here

Every form you moved is listed under Forms moved here (From Fluent Forms: Booking Inquiry), with how many of its entries are here. When the old form is still taking entries while you switch over, press Bring new entries to fetch the ones sent since. An entry is never brought twice. All entries are here means you are up to date.
